• Founded Ubiquitous Location-awareness Research Group(UbiLoc), devoting to the location-aware particularlly indoor location-aware technology research and related application system development of Ubiquitous Computing, Internet of Things (IoT) and  Mobile Social Network , which are seen as new computing modes.
• Supervising a group of over 10 master’s students in the above areas, especially in indoor positioning technologies, Location-related context modeling and reasoning, 2D/3D visualization of indoor space information and Real-time Locating System(RTLS).
• Undertaken 4 national scientific projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Plan key projects supported by National Science and Technology, Important National Science & Technology Specific Projects ,National 863 High-Tech Program, etc.
• Published about 15 papers in the field of ubiquitous location-awareness.

• Worked in a research team of 3D Geographic Information System(3D GIS) platform and participated in designing software architecture and developing  3D rendering engine, 3D landscape visualization and 3D underground space modeling software modules.
• As project manager led a group of over 10 researchers and programmers in designing and developing Shanghai 3D Urban Geological Information Management and Service System. It is the first demonstration project for three-dimensional urban geological information system in China.
• Accomplished a product, over 4 engineering projects and 3 research projects in three-dimensional geological information system.
• Became one of the pioneers of the field of the 3D urban geological information technology and presided the development of industry standard.
• Published over 20 papers and co-authored a book on three-dimensional geological modeling and urban geological information system.
